 B

Regarded as one of the English language’s most gifted poets, John Keats wrote poetry that concentrated on imagery, human nature, and philosophy (哲学). Although Keats didn’t receive much formal literary education, his

own studies and passion brought him much success. Additionally, his own life situation influenced his poetry greatly. Growing up as a young boy in London in a lower middle-class family, the young John didn’t attend a private school, but went to a public one. His teachers and his family’s friends regarded him as an optimistic boy who favored playing and fighting much more than minding his studies. After his father’s death in the early 1800s, followed by his mother’s passing due to tuberculosis (肺结核), he began viewing life differently. He wanted to escape the world and did so by reading anything he could get his hands on. At around the age of 16, the teenage John Keats began studying under a surgeon so that he too might become a doctor. However, his literary appetite had taken too much of his fancy, especially with his addiction to the poetry of Ehmund Spenser. He was able to have his first full poem published in the Examiner in 1816, entitled O Solitude! If I Must With Thee Dwell. Within two months in 1817, Keats had written an entire volume of poetry, but was sharply criticized (批评) by a magazine. However, the negative response didn’t stop his love of rhythm (韵律). John Keats’ next work was Endymion, which was published in May 1818. The story involves a shepherd who falls in love with the moon goddess and leads him on an adventure of one boy’s hope to overcome the limitations of being human. Following Endymion, however, he tried something more narrative-based (叙事体的) and wrote Isabella. During this time, John Keats began seeing his limitations in poetry due to his own limit in life experiences. He would have to have the “knowledge” associated with his poems. His next work was Hyperion that would attempt to combine all that he learned. However, a

bout (发作) with tuberculosis while visiting Italy would keep him from his work and eventually take his life in 1821. 24. John Keats’ attitude towards life changed because of ________. A his early education from school

 B. the deaths of his parents C. Edmund Spenser’s poetry

 D. the criticism of a magazine 25. What is the common thing between John Keats and his mother? A. They read many books.

 B. They had a bad childhood. C. They died of the same disease.

  D. They showed strong interest in poetry. 26. While trying to achieve his dream of becoming a poet first, John Keats was ________. A determined

  B. experienced

 C. knowledgeable

 D. impatient 27. What do we know from the passage? A. Keats received little education at school.

  B. Endymion was about a real love story. C. In 1816 Keats spent two months writing a poem. D. Keats once had a chance of becoming a doctor.

C People with COVID-19 who are asymptomatic can spread the disease without any outward signs that they"re sick. But a newly developed AI, with a keen algorithmic(计算程序的)ear, might be able to detect asymptomatic cases from the sounds of people"s coughs, according to a new study. A group of researchers at MIT recently developed an artificial intelligence model that can detect asymptomatic COVID-19 cases by listening to subtle differences in coughs between healthy people and infected people. Indeed, it is the Alzheimer"s model that the researchers adapted in an effort to detect COVID-19.“The sounds of talking and coughing are both influenced by the vocal cords(声带)

and. surrounding organs.” co-author Brian Subirana, a research scientist in MIT"s Auto-ID Laboratory said in a statement. “AI can pick up simply from coughs, including things like the person"s gender, mother tongue or even emotional state. There"s in fact sentiment(情绪;情感)strongly fixed in how you cough.” First, they created a website where volunteers-both healthy and those with COVID-19-could record coughs using their cellphones or computers; they also filled out a survey with questions about their diagnosis and any symptoms they were experiencing.People were asked to record “forced coughs,” such as the cough you let out when your doctor tells you to cough while listening to your chest with a stethoscope(听诊器)。

Through this website, the researchers gathered more than 70,000 individual recordings of forced-cough samples, according to the statement, Of those,2,660 were from patients who had COVID-19,with or without symptoms. They then used 4,256 of the samples to train their AI model and 1,064 of the samples to test their model to see whether or not it could detect the difference in coughs between COVID-19 patients and healthy people. The AI model correctly identified 98.5% of people with COVID-19,and correctly ruled out COVID-19 in 94.2% of people without the disease. For asymptomatic people, the model correctly identified 100% of people with COVID-19, and correctly ruled out COVID-19 in 83.2% of people without the disease. But "whether or not this performs well enough in a real-world setting to recommend its use as a screening tool would need further study,"Lubinsky told Live Science."What"s more, further research is needed to ensure the Al would accurately evaluate coughs from people of all ages,’’ he said.

 28. How does the AI recognize people infected with COVID-19? A. By observing outward sick signs.

  B. By identifying sounds of coughs. C.By copying the Alzheimer"s model.

  D. By talking to the healthy and the infected. 29. On what basis does the AI function as a detecting tool? A. How people catch coughs.

B.How people perceive coughs. C. How people make vocal sounds.

D.How people release their emotions. 30. Which of

the following isn"t a part of the research? A. Volunteers record coughs.

  B. Volunteers fill out a survey. C.Doctors ask for forced coughs.

D.Researchers train the AI model. 31. What is one of the faults of the research? A. The limited age range.

B.Failure to evaluate coughs. C. Inaccuracy of the statistics.

 D.Low rate of identifying cases.

 D. On November 24, China launched the Chang’e‒5 lunar probe from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site on the coast of southern island province of Hainan, aboard the heavy-lift carrier rocket Long March‒5. Chang’e‒5, comprising an orbiter, a lander, an ascender and a returner, with a total take-off mass of 8.2 tonnes, is expected to bring back samples from the Moon using a complicated technological approach which includes unmanned rendezvous and docking(无人交会对接)in lunar orbit.

After it enters the lunar orbit, the lander-ascender combination will separate from the orbiter-returner combination in order to touch down on the Moon. Within 48 hours, a robotic arm will be extended to scoop up rocks and regolith(风化层)on the lunar surface, and a drill will bore into the ground. About 2kg of samples are expected to be collected and sealed in a container in the spacecraft. Then the ascender will take off, and dock with the orbiter-returner in orbit. After the samples are transferred to the returner, the ascender will separate from the orbiter-returner. When the geometric(几何的)relationship between Earth and the Moon is suitable, the orbiter will carry the returner back to Earth.

The landing site of Chang’e‒5 will be to the west of that of Chang’e‒3, which went to the Moon in 2013. This site was chosen because the region has a young geological age, younger than the sampling areas of the United States and the Soviet Union more than 40 years ago. This region has never been sampled. The new samples will be of great scientific value. Pei Zhaoyu, Deputy Director of the Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center of the China National Space Administration, said if the Chang’e‒5 mission succeeds, China’s current lunar exploration project will come to a successful conclusion. It will also help promote China’s science and technology development, and lay an important foundation for China’s future manned lunar landing and deep space exploration. 32. The mission of Chang’e‒5 is to ______.

 .

 A. collect and carry back lunar samples

  B. monitor changes of the lunar surface C. achieve unmanned rendezvous and docking D. perform a soft landing on the lunar far side 33. What is special about the landing site of Chang’e‒5?

  A. It contains much younger lunar rocks.

 B. It has never been reached by any country. C. It accounts for most resources on the Moon. D. It is the region where Chang’e‒3 has landed. 34. What does Pei Zhaoyu think of the success of Chang’e‒5 mission?

  A. It will take China to the forefront of space exploration. B. It will mark the end of human exploration of the Moon. C. It will make it possible to sample other celestial bodies. D. It will pave the way for China’s future space exploration. 35. What is the best title for the text? A. Chang’e‒5 Brings Back Samples

 B. China Launched Chang’e‒5 Lunar Probe C. The Bright Future of China’s Manned Lunar Landing D. The Development of China’s Science and Technology

here. Curiously and excitedly, we walked around the station and looked everywhere, searched for any information in English. Whenever an English word comes into sight, the class would burst into the cheers as if we had discovered a new world. With the Chinese translation and vividly pictures, we could figure out its meaning with ease. Now, this unforgettable lesson still encourages me to be an active learner whenever I go.

My wife and I occasionally go to a nice restaurant to eat.My wife’s mother, lives with us and she stays with the children. This makes it very easy for us to go out for the evening. Last week we went to the restaurant in a new hotel. We had a wonderful meal. First,we had soup and a salad. Then Helen,my wife, had mutton with peas and carrots, and I had beefsteak with potatoes. For dessert,I had some ice cream and Helen had fresh fruit. We had several cups of coffee after we finished eating. The food was delicious, the quantity was large, and it wasn’t too expensive. Our children don’t like to eat in restaurants because they have to sit and be quiet for a long time. They would rather go to their grandmother’s farm. Their grandmother—my mother prepares everything they like. She usually has fried chicken, corn, and hot biscuits with honey. She always serves plenty of chocolate ice cream and cake for dessert. I’m always surprised that my father doesn’t weigh a lot more when I see how much he eats. But he works very hard on the farm from about 5 o’clock in the morning until it gets dark in the evening. When my parents visit us in the city,we usually take them to a restaurant. I know they enjoy it, but my father always eats something else after he gets home. The quantity may be large in the restaurant, but it is still not large enough for a hungry farmer.

With collections of antiquities that among the world’s finest……from Egypt, Greece, the Roman in Empire and China. 由第二部分的第二句……that visitors need to reserve a ticket in advance to guarantee entry 可知,进入需要提前订票。

故选 A。

After his father’s death in the early 1800s, followed by his mother’s passing due to tuberculosis (肺结核), he began viewing life differently. He wanted to escape the world and did so by reading anything he could get his hands on.

根据第二段 followed by his mother’s passing due to tuberculosis (肺结核)可知他的母亲死于肺结核,再根据文章最后一句话 However, a bout (发作) with tuberculosis while visiting Italy would keep him from his work and eventually take his life in 1821.

Although Keats didn’t receive much formal literary education, his own studies and passion brought him much success. Additionally, his own life situation influenced his poetry greatly. 故选 A。

At around the age of 16, the teenage John Keats began studying under a surgeon so that he too might become a doctor. John Keats’ next work was Endymion, which was published in May 1818. The story involves a shepherd who falls in love with the moon goddess and leads him on an adventure of one boy’s hope to overcome the limitations of being human.
