Do you want a book? You can head to a Little Free Library. There you can take a book or share a book.

Unlike the libraries you know, these small ones aren"t. buildings full of books, but boxes with books. You can take a book home with you. Or if you have a book to share, you can leave it for someone else to read.

The Little Free Library comes in many shapes(形状), but the most usual ones are small wooden boxes of books. They are everywhere such as at street corners and beside coffee shops.

The first Little Free Library was born in front of Todd Bol"s home in Hudson, Wisconsin. The mini-library provided free books and anyone could enjoy.

In 2009, in memory of his mother— a teacher and book lover, Todd Bol put up a wooden mini-schoolhouse outside his home and filled it with books. He invited people to take a book or share a book. He wanted to share the joy of reading in the neighborhood and make the community a better place o live in.

However, he might not know that there would be something magical to happen. The Little Free Library became popular all over the world soon. Now, there are more than 80,000 such libraries in more than 90 countries.

What does your father do at home every night? What do you talk about or do together?

A boy wrote to me, saying that he had a problem with his father. His father was nice, but very busy. When they were together, it was often just embarrassing(尴尬的)silence. He didn"t know what to talk about with his father. He asked me for advice.

Here is what I wrote back:

My first piece of advice is to tell your father everything you told me in your letter. But if you"re not that brave, here are some tricks to start conversations.

First, remember that everyone loves to talk about himself. So ask your father something about himself. For example, ask him "What"s something you loved to do in your childhood, but you never have time for these days?" You will learn something about your father and have a new topic next time.

Another way is to tell him about something bad that happened to you. Ask him about a time when he was troubled. You could change "troubled" to any other word ㎏ embarrassed, sad or unhappy

Here"s one more trick: You can find thousands of questions online. If your father asks why you have so many strange questions, tell him your English teacher shared them and you think they"re fun.

I hope this gets your conversation started!
